J&K Trade Promotion Organization organizes Export Awareness cum E-commerce Onboarding Drive in District Shopian

Shopian, 14th July,23: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) under the auspices of the Industries & Commerce Department conducted an Export Awareness Workshop cum E-commerce Onboarding event in an effort to promote and facilitate exports from District Shopian. The event was organized as per the directions of Sh. Vikramjit Singh Commissioner/Secretary Industries & Commerce, J&K and under the guidance of Managing Director, JKTPO in collaboration with District Administration Shopian. This event brings together esteemed speakers and industry experts from Government of India and other renowned organizations, such as DGFT, MSME, MYSTORE, ONDC, Walmart vriddhi, and FIEO. The workshop aimed to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to local businesses looking to expand their operations in the global market.

The workshop witnessed participation of more than 110+ local farmers, orchardists,and entrepreneur. The participants also showed a warm response for registering import/export code and for E-commerce onboarding on platforms like ONDC, Walmart Vriddhi etc. List of interested participants will be shared with E-commerce players and DGFT for onboarding and registration.

The detailed sessions were conducted by the experts on the benefits of exports, the process of getting an Import/Export code, endorsing local products to an international market, credit linkages for exports and credit risk insurance facilities

Sh. A.K Bhushan, Deputy DGFT, J&K, informed the audience about the DGFT's function in global commerce. He explained about the kinds of paperwork and processes required for registering an international business/IEC and other relevant trade activities.

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) provided their expertise in market research, export documentation, and developing strategic partnerships, arming participants with in-depth export knowledge.

Sh. Davinder Kumar Tyagi, Asst. Director MSME, J&K, informed participants about the various schemes/incentives/benefits offered by the Ministry of MSME.

The workshop is in continuation of the planned events to be held across the UT to promote exports from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the District as Export Hub Scheme/ODOP initiative.

Keynote addresses, stakeholder discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities was the format of the event, which gave attendees the chance to hear from concerned experts about their experiences and make connections with possible partners. Attendees also received informational resources, tools, and advice to jump-start their export journeys or improve their current export skills.JKTPO shall continue such export awareness workshop and e-comm onboarding drives to provide first-hand knowledge and information about exports ecosystem and provide access to a vast digital marketplace and enable local entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products nationwide.
