11th Meeting of Board
of Directors of the J&K Trade Promotion Organisation held under the
Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Department of Industries& Commerce
Mr. Prashant Goyal, Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of
Industries & Commerce, Government of Jammu and Kashmir chaired the 11th
Board of Directors Meeting on 16thMay,2023in the 4th
Floor Meeting Hall of Civil Secretariat in Srinagar.
Mr. Khalid Jahangir, JKASManaging Director, JKTPO presented the agendafor
11th Board of Directors Meeting and also appraised the board about
the action taken regarding previous board decisions.The Board discussed and
deliberated on various agenda items and also approved the Financial Statements
of the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) for the year
ending 31st March 2023 (Financial Year 2022-23).
The chairman deliberated on the Investment promotion and facilitationactivities
in UT of J&K, wherein JKTPO shall play an important role for executing
investor facilitation activities across J&K through various outreach
programs and organizing sector specific events to brand J&K as investment
friendly UT.An Investor facilitation Cell will be created in the JKTPO for facilitation
of existing, prospective investors and applicants on Single Window Portal.
The Board Members also approved
the calendar of events proposed by JKTPO for the Financial Year 2023-24. The
intent is to focus more on attracting Investment in the region and generate
employment to local population.
In principal approval was given by the board regarding organizational restructuring
of JKTPO from current 9 posts to 29 posts, whereinit was decided the proposal
for the same shall sent to Finance department for concurrence.
It was alsodiscussed that the start of 2nd batch of Hauslain
which the JKTPO in collaboration with JKEDI shall provide Training, Mentoring
and market support to women entrepreneurs at District level. It was directed to
analyse the proposal and place the item in next Board meeting for decision.
In addition to the above, some other directions were also passed by the
Chair regarding various activities being carried out by the JKTPO, to further
strengthen the organization's working.

Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO); Mr. Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director,
Handicrafts & Handlooms Department, Kashmir; Sh. Tej Krishan Bhat, Special
Secretary, Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Association; Sh. Vikas
Gupta, Director, Handicrafts & Handlooms Department, Jammu; Sh. Rakesh
Kumar, Additional Secretary to the Government, Finance Department were among the
Directors who attended the meeting.
Smt. Samita Sethi, Secretary in the Department, Industries &
Commerce Department, J&K; Mr. Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Secretary, Representative
from Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department; Mr. Abdul Majid Bhat,
Director Finance, Representative from Higher Education Department; Sh. Suresh
Koul, Director Finance, Industries & Commerce Department, J&K;Sh. Amarjeet
Singh, Special Secretary, Representative from Tourism Department;Sh. RK Verma,
Executive Director, Representative from Export Promotion Council of Handicraft

the meeting as the Special Invitees.
