JKTPO’s Participation at 45th
India Carpet Expo, Bhadohi
Jammu, 15 October 2023: Jammu and Kashmir
Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) participated in 45h
edition of India Carpet Expo, from 8-11 October 2023 at Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh,
a flagship B2B event organized by Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC).
The expo was inaugurated by the honourable CM
of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath. During the inauguration ceremony,
he interacted with exhibitors from Jammu Kashmir and appreciated the hand-woven
silk & woollen carpets. He emphasized the pivotal the carpet industry in
Jammu Kashmir has played over the years to promote exports. He highlighted the evolving
industrial eco-system and importance of promoting GI tagged products Jammu
Kashmir at national & international market.
The exquisite, handcrafted carpets from Jammu
& Kashmir were one of the biggest attractions at India Carpet Expo,
showcasing the state’s culture, heritage, and craft. India Carpet Expo
brings together national & international traders, industry leaders and craftsmen,
to drive economic growth and promote handicraft in the country. The carpets from Jammu Kashmir showcased the uniqueness
in design & skilled craftmanship of carpet industry Jammu & Kashmir to more
than 2000 national & 150 international visitors.
Jammu Kashmir’s 07 exhibitors showcased variety
of unique and range of GI tagged silk carpets and woollen carpets at the event.
Special Media interaction with carpet exporters from J&K was
organized to understand the current advancements in the hand-weave carpets
industry empowerment & their progress stories to encourage more
entrepreneurs from the UT of J&K.
Exhibitors received very good response,
various B2B meets are being conducted with national & international
visitors/buyers. Ample business leads which were approx. more than 150 in numbers
were generated by the exhibitors and exhibitors expect to generate good
business for the exhibitors.
