Show, 24 the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) organized
an Electronics and IT Conclave in collaboration with the Electronics and
Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ECS). This conclave brought
together industry leaders, experts, and key stakeholders to discuss the future
of the IT and electronics sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. The event, featuring
insightful sessions and interactive discussions, aimed to explore the potential
and opportunities within the region's IT industry, highlighting its crucial role
in driving economic growth and innovation. The event, held at Heritage Kashmir
Arts Emporium Gardens, was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Vikramjit Singh,
Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce (I&C), J&K.
The conclave commenced with a welcome address by
Sh. Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director of JKTPO, who highlighted the importance
of the IT industry in Jammu and Kashmir. He provided an insightful analysis of
the region’s IT sector, showcasing its current state and future potential, and
underscored the significant opportunities within the industry for economic
growth and innovation.
In his inaugural address, Commissioner Secretary
I&C, Shri Vikramjit Singh, emphasized the comprehensive industrial policies
of Jammu and Kashmir. He detailed the incentives and government support
available for the IT sector and other industries, explaining how these policies
are designed to foster growth and innovation, providing a robust framework for
businesses to thrive and contribute to the region's economic development.
The event featured addresses from several
distinguished dignitaries, including:Sh. Sandeep Narula, Chairman of ESC, who
provided insightful perspectives on the future of electronics and IT industries,
Mr. Javed Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (KCCI), who emphasized the significance of technological advancements
for regional economic growth, Mr. Khalid Majeed, Director of the Department of
Industries and Commerce in Kashmir, who highlighted government initiatives
supporting the sector & Sh. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director General of the
Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), who
underscored the role of entrepreneurship in driving innovation.

The event
also included a separate interactive session between ECS officials, investors
and officials from I&C department Govt. of J&K, where Commissioner
Secretary I&C, Sh. Vikramjit Singh, deliberated on the industrial policies
in J&K and the government support available for investors from different
sectors. This session was attended by local entrepreneurs in the IT sector and
other business personalities, fostering a collaborative exchange of ideas and
opportunities.

artificial intelligence, Mohd Aslam Khan, Chairman & MD of Octaware
Information Technologies P Ltd. addressing software products and tech startups,
Dr. Sunit K. P., MD of 2S Global Technologies Ltd. presenting insights on
e-governance, Ashwini Rath, Director & CEO of Batoi Systems Pvt Ltd.
discussing quantum computing, and Anil K Garg, Director of Checkbox Technology
P Ltd. providing expertise on embedded technology.
The Electronics and IT Conclave, marked by engaging
discussions, collaborative exchanges, and a shared vision for the advancement
of the electronics and IT sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, concluded with a vote
of thanks by Sh. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director General of JKEDI. The event
successfully highlighted the immense potential and opportunities in the region's
IT and electronics sectors, paving the way for future growth and innovation.
